Panyu Doughnut
People board a ferry crossing the Pearl River in Panyu, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China. The oddly-shaped building on the opposite shore is in Liwan District.
I’m not sure why someone decided to construct a building that resembles a giant deep-fried pastry in southern Guangzhou. Was the Panyu Doughnut designed by a Tolkien fan? Sci-fi nut? Washer and o-ring manufacturing tycoon? The thing is weird enough that I’m just glad it’s there.
