Hedong Bridge Ferry and Port on the Pearl River

A ferry waits near the Hedong Bridge in Haizhu District (formerly Liwan District), Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China. It seems odd that a ferry would continue to facilitate crossing the Pearl River so near this bridge, but the cable-stayed span lacks pedestrian accommodation.
