Food Photography for Cafe Deco Macau - New Menu Items

Pan-seared Foie Gras photographed for Cafe Deco Macau

Cafe Deco is one of those clients who just keep coming back for more images. I've worked with three general managers at the Macau restaurant over the years photographing food and portraits. The brief is always fairly simple: make it look cool.

The restaurant's marketing materials are thoroughly covered in my images now; from banners, signs, and advertisements to the menu and lunchtime place mats. It's always gratifying to see work put to use like that.

The Pan-seared foie gras above and other images here are from an assignment earlier this year photographing new menu items.

Macau Portrait Photography - Tapestry in Sound Jazz Band Promo for Cafe Deco

Tapestry in Sound jazz band portrait on the pool table at Cafe Deco Macau

The Tapestry in Sound jazz band exists as something of an anomaly amongst the usual imported acts performing in new Macau's casinos, bars and other performance venus; it's a thoroughly local group featuring a handful of Macau's best young jazz musicians.

Cafe Deco Macau asked me to stop by and make a couple photos of the band last month for their promotions.

Mixed drinks, unmixed drinks and non-alcoholic libations at Cafe Deco Macau - Food Photography

Sparkling wine at Cafe Deco Macau

I usually photograph drinks and their aftermath when they are being consumed, rather than before, which made a recent assignment to produce menu photos of a Macau restaurant's drink selection even more entertaining than it might have been otherwise.

Chinese Food Specials at Cafe Deco Macau

Cafe Deco Macau asked me to stop by and make a few food photos for one of their Chinese food promotions last year. People usually assume I'm joking when I say this, but photographing food is great fun.
